V Encuentro Welcomes Summer Intern

Rose Urankar is as rising senior at the University of Notre Dame. She was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, living four houses away from Lake Erie with her mother, father, and sister. At Notre Dame, she is double majoring in Theology and American Studies which allow her to study the intersection of religion and place, including social class, poverty, history, and immigration. Aside from academics, she is a member of the Notre Dame Folk Choir, a thespian in their student-produced musical theater company, and a frequent volunteer at the St. Peter Claver Catholic Worker. This summer, she is interning at the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops in the Office of Hispanic Affairs, specifically working with Alejandro Aguilera-Titus to prepare for the V Encuentro. Her main assignment will be updating a Media Kit produced by the Secretariat for Cultural Diversity in the Church, which contains a bounty of information concerning how Hispanic/Latino Catholics are engaging their faith in the United States today. She will also be available to offer assistance on any projects related to the V Encuentro. While she hopes to bring her creativity and other unique gifts to the work she'll be doing this summer, more than anything she hopes to learn a great deal about the Hispanic/Latino population through the lens of Catholic ministry. 2015 © ENAVE.  All Rights Reserved.
