V Encuentro Project Coordinator- Consultant Position


Position Title:  V Encuentro Project Coordinator National Team of Accompaniment for the V Encuentro (ENAVE) Cultural Diversity in the Church, USCCB

Position Reports to:
Alejandro Aguilera-Titus and/or designated consultant on the Core Team of the National Team of Accompaniment for the V Encuentro (ENAVE)
Hours/Week:
20 – 30 hours, Position is Temporary, Flexible Hours, and Availability to Travel
Location:
Home Office

Helps to develop, coordinate and execute ongoing & short-term projects and events undertaken by ENAVE and the Secretariat of Cultural Diversity in the Church related to the V Encuentro ensuring that project milestones, activities, and deliverables are achieved on time and on budget.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Provides coordination and management for the budgeting, planning, and implementation of specific projects associated with the V Encuentro.

  2. Coordinates planning meetings and partner collaboration for the development of short term and long term projects related to the V Encuentro.

  3. Provides technical support for events and special projects related to the V Encuentro.

  4. Assists in the drafting of documents, letters, and interview outlines for bishops on issues related to the V Encuentro.

  5. In consultation with the Project Management Director, creates and monitors the budget and produces regular revenue and expense reports; Assists the Director to reconcile invoices and accounts for the ENAVE (Equipo Nacional de Acompañamiento del V Encuentro) Team; Produces procedures for processing the reception and distribution of funds.

  6. Assists with the planning and coordination of ENAVE and Core Team meetings such as handling venue, catering, accommodations, IT, room set-ups, etc.

  7. Assists in the planning of all regular ENAVE meetings and assists the teams in achieving their delegated tasks and plans.

Qualification Requirements
Level:
Bachelor’s Degree required
Major Field/Specialty:
events planning and organizing, education, theology, communications
Other Specialized Training: (i.e. word processing, personal computer, knowledge of Catholic Church, etc.)
  • Intercultural communication, including verbal, written, and presentation skills

  • Knowledge and acceptance of the Catholic Church’s teachings, particularly those relevant to the promotion of unity in diversity, intercultural competence, catechesis and evangelization in culturally diverse settings, the New Evangelization, life, justice and human dignity issues

  • Knowledge of Hispanic Ministry

  • Excellent written and verbal language skills in English and Spanish

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access (desktop publishing), Outlook (email), and ideally Adobe products such as Photoshop and InDesign

  • Familiarity with videoconferencing such as Skype.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Events planning or project management experience

  • Experience in Hispanic Ministry

  • Writing, editing, and other forms of communication skills

  • Familiarity with Church language

  • Strong leadership and organizational skills

  • Capacity to interact with pastoral leaders at all levels

  • Ability to coordinate and direct the development and execution of events and projects

  • Ability to follow established policies and procedures

  • Facility to collaborate with team members, colleagues and others to achieve mission goals and objectives

Number of Years Required:
At least three years of professional/ministerial experience
