The V Encuentro Welcomes National Coordinator

The V Encuentro welcomes Laüreen Aguayo as the National Coordinator. Laüreen will form part of the Core Team and help to develop, coordinate and execute ongoing & short-term projects and events undertaken by ENAVE and the Secretariat of Cultural Diversity in the Church related to the V Encuentro. She will ensure that project milestones, activities, and deliverables are achieved on time and on budget.
Laüreen is from Hayward, CA and brings over 20 years of ministry and project management experience at the local, regional and national level. She has worked as an independent contractor consejera for William H. Sadlier promoting sales and offering catechetical consulting and presentations, and workshops at Diocesan Conference. She has also served as an Adult Spanish Faith Formation Coordinator, a Youth and Young Adult Coordinator, a Pastoral Associate, a Youth Faith Formation/Minister, a catechetical secretary, and workshop presenter for youth and parish leaders. Laüreen also offered workshops on evangelization and leadership for the lay ecclesial movement Promoción Juvenil.
Previously, she served as a board member of the National Association of Lay Ministry (NALM) and was a 2009 recipient of the Companions on the Journey Award from the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry(NFCYM) for her work with High School youth in the Diocese of Oakland. In 2012 Laüreen coordinated a Regional Study on Lay Ministry for the School of Applied Theology.
Laüreen studied at the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley at Franciscan School of Theology and is also certified through the Diocese of Oakland, CA. Laüreen participated in Encuentro 2000 and the First National Encounter for Hispanic Youth and Young Adult Ministry and believes in the importance and impact of an Encuentro experience.
