On October 15, 2015 and November 11, 2015, Regional New Media Encuentro Representatives received online training. Regional New Media Encuentro Representatives (RNMER's) are responsible for offering new media communications support for a particular episcopal region. RNMER’s will cover regional events and coordinate the coverage of diocesan events. Their main role is to publicize and communicate information about their regional gatherings as well as all events and news related to the V Encuentro. Some of the tasks of RNER's are to photograph regional events, to recruit, train, and offer support to their region’s Diocesan NMER’s, assist in developing the V Encuentro editorial calendar, coordinate coverage of diocesan events, write blog articles and social media posts, and help publicize events, articles, and posts via social media. Other duties include covering the National Encuentro, providing ENAVE with event dates and news and thinking of creative ways to publicize the V Encuentro in their region and at a national level.
Dr. Patricia Jiménez, consultant and Core Team member, offered the online training. She added,
The training included an introduction to the communications structure, a grassroots model that allows the voices at the local, regional, and national level to engage via new media. It also provided them with the procedure for submitting blog articles, tips and guidelines for social media and photography, and a schedule and tasks for the remaining of 2015 and 2016. The training was recorded and RNMER's who were unable to attend received a link to watch the recorded webinar. In January of 2016, RNMER's will meet online to finalized the 2016 editorial calendar.
