Our Sunday Visitor commits to Padrino Partnership for the V Encuentro
Washington, DC- The National Team of Accompaniment towards the V Encuentro (ENAHVE) is proud to announce Our Sunday Visitor (OSV) as a Padrino Partner for the
. As Padrinos, OSV will contribute $35,000 per year for the next five years for a total contribution of $175,000 towards the V Encuentro. OSV embarks on this process with ENAHVE as the first publishing company to solidify their commitment to Hispanic Catholic Ministry in the United States. Headquartered in Huntington, IN Our Sunday Visitor is one of the largest English language Roman Catholic publishers in the world publishing textbooks, parish resources, a weekly newspaper, apps, e-books and manufacturing church offering envelopes. “Our Sunday Visitor is proud to be a “Padrino” sponsor of the V Encuentro for two reasons. First, we heartily support the Encuentro process because it is an intentional effort to listen at every level and in every community to the voices of those who Pope Francis calls the holy faithful people of God. This process itself will be an opportunity to identify and engage the future leaders of our Church. Second, the V Encuentro will be an opportunity to awaken the entire Church to the great blessing of Hispanic/Latino communities in its midst, so that we will be able to better walk with each other as sisters and brothers in Christ on the path of missionary discipleship in the years ahead,” said Greg Eraldson, President and Publisher of the Our Sunday Visitor Publishing Division. The
is a three-year process of pastoral-theological reflection culminating with a national event, and followed by one-year of implementation. The process includes leadership development and formation, and a broad consultation that identifies the needs of Hispanic Catholics in the United States and how to address them. The outcome of the consultation is shared through
(gatherings) at the parish, diocesan, regional and national level, and articulated in a concluding document with pastoral guidelines and recommendations.
