Oregon Catholic Press Partners as Padrinos for the V Encuentro

Washington, DC- The National Team of Accompaniment of the V Encuentro (ENAVE) is eager to announce a Padrino Partnership with Oregon Catholic Press (OCP) for the

V Encuentro Nacional Hispano/Latino de Pastoral

. OCP is the third organization to commit to a Padrino Partnership but the first to offer the full sum of $175,000 towards the V Encuentro. The V Encuentro also counts on the support and presence of many of OCP’s staff at the national and regional level. OCP is a not-for-profit publisher of liturgical music and worship resources based in Portland, Oregon and has been in operation for more than 90 years. Worship programs produced by OCP are used in over two-thirds of Catholic churches in the United States and are distributed worldwide. Publisher John Limb stated, "OCP is proud to be one of only four Padrino Partners of the V Encuentro. As you know, OCP has a long history of supporting the Hispanic Catholic community and Spanish-language music and worship in the United States. As a not-for-profit publisher, OCP has a mission ‘to bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all, primarily through the publication of the highest-quality worship programs

spiritually enriching music’ and ‘to serve the Catholic Church by providing financial support, to be used for religious, educational and charitable purposes.’ Our support of the V Encuentro is right in line with that mission." The

V Encuentro Nacional Hispano/Latino de Pastoral

is a three-year process of pastoral-theological reflection culminating with a national event, and followed by one-year of implementation. The process includes leadership development and formation, and a broad consultation that identifies the needs of Hispanic Catholics in the United States and how to address them. The outcome of the consultation is shared through

Encuentro

(gatherings) at the parish, diocesan, regional and national level, and articulated in a concluding document with pastoral guidelines and recommendations.
