PRESS RELEASE
March 6, 2016
Patricia Jiménez- (559) 429-5113, contact@vencuentro.org ENAVE is proud to announce a
Partnership with the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry. As
they have pledged a five-year commitment of $10,000 for a total sum of $50,000 in support of the V Encuentro. In addition, NFCYM also supports the V Encuentro with representation on the National Team (ENAVE). Given the national reality in which 60% of Catholics in the U.S. under the age of 18 are Hispanic/Latino and 93% of them are U.S.-born, a partnership with NFCYM will be beneficial. One of the objectives for the V Encuentro is to provide a renewed ecclesial vision that develops effective pathways to invite, engage and form Hispanic Catholic youth and young adults and NFCYM’s partnership will support that endeavor.
NFCYM is headquartered in Washington DC and was Founded in 1982 as an association made up of dioceses and collaborating organizations. NFCYM is the vehicle for Catholic youth ministry to dialogue and collaborate with the U.S. Catholic Bishops, national ministry organizations, and the public.
Dr. Robert J. McCarty, Executive Director of NFCYM affirms their commitment,
Fr. Hector madrigal, Chair of ENAVE's Development Team confirmed,
The V
is a four-year process of ecclesial reflection and action that invites all Catholics in the United States to intense missionary activity, consultation, leadership development, and identification of best ministerial practices in the spirit of the New Evangelization. The process has been proposed as a priority activity of the USCCB’s Strategic Plan for 2017-2020. The V
starts at the grass-roots level and calls for the development of resources and initiatives to better serve the fast-growing Hispanic population in dioceses, parishes, ecclesial movements, and other Catholic organizations and institutions in light of its theme
###
ENAVE is the National Team of Accompaniment of the V Encuentro and is a representative group of national Catholic organizations committed to advancing the call to the V Encuentro Nacional de Pastoral Hispana/Latina. ENAVE is represented by 42 national and regional Catholic organizations that directly serve the Hispanic/Latino community.
