NFCYM Announces New Executive Director

The National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry (NFCYM) has announced Christina Lamas as its new executive director. Lamas brings more than twenty years of youth ministry experience to the NFCYM, most recently as the associate director for the Office of Religious Education and division coordinator of Youth Ministry for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. Lamas begins her new position at the NFCYM’s Washington, D.C. office on August 22, 2016.
Christina has served as a regional coordinator for the San Gabriel Region in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, a parish confirmation and youth ministry coordinator. She has participated in the “Called to Witness” program sponsored by Catholic Relief Services and as an adjunct faculty member for the Center for Ministry Development. Lamas has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in social work from the University of Southern California.
As executive director, Lamas will be responsible for leading the NFCYM in fulfilling its mission, realizing its vision, overseeing operations, and implementing new strategic initiatives. She will also represent the NFCYM to the United States Catholic Conference of Bishops and numerous professional ministry organizations throughout the United States and abroad.
