Meet Sr. Anne Marie Reha, SSND

As a School Sister of Notre Dame, Sr. Anne Marie ministered for 10 years in the mountains of the Diocese of San Marcos, Guatemala. Through her encounter with the Guatemalan people and their culture she was touched and transformed. There she learned what it means to be an evangelizing Church and a missionary disciple. Now, for the past 10 years, she has served as the diocesan director of Hispanic ministry in the small, rural diocese of New Ulm, MN where she has been privileged to accompany the Latino community. Also, being a board member of the National Association of Diocesan Directors of Hispanic Ministry (NCACCDHM) for six years gifted her with the opportunity to come to know her dedicated colleagues from across the country and the many challenges that they face in their ministry. It has been a natural transition for her to become a part of the ENHAVE team. This is a prophetic moment in history of the Church in the United States and she is excited to be a part of the V Encuentro Process.

“I believe that the Latino community can be a voice that calls the Church to a new evangelization through its commitment to be missionary disciples. The Encuentro process will be a blessing for the Church as we discern how to move into the future to respond to the pastoral needs of all people, and in a special way the young, the poor, and marginalized. My hope is the Encuentro process will reach out to not only all our Hispanic/Latino brothers and sisters but to the entire Church. My hope is that this time leading up to the V Encuentro will give us the chance to remember and honor what we have learned and gained from the previous Encuentros here in the United States as well the opportunity to organize and prepare leadership that will accompany the process into the future.”

Sr. Anne Marie serves as a Consultant in the Core Planning Committee and chairs of the Secretarial Committee. She was recently elected to the Board of her religious community, the Schools Sisters of Notre Dame.   2015 © ENAHVE.  All Rights Reserved.  Featured image by Sr. Anne Marie Reha.
