Julio Beltran was born and raised in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, in a small town called La Yerbabueba. He is the coordinator for the Pastoral Juvenil at the Diocese of Beaumont. He started serving in church as a leader in the grupo juvenil, then as coordinator of the apostolic movement Jornada Juvenil de Cristiandad at the Diocese of Austin. The experience of the Primer Encuentro Nacional de Pastoral Juvenil Hispana in Notre Dame was a key point in his life, after this experience he realized that the presence of Hispanic young people in this country is a Blessing for the Church. That is why he volunteered to serve as the coordinator of the Pastoral Juvenil for the diocese of Austin working with Hispanic Young Adults and youth ministry.
"After the Encuentro Nacional de Pastoral Juvenil Hispana I committed myself to the Church and to the community. My dream was to become a Pastoral Agent, that’s why I decided to study at Instituto Fey Vida. I knew the challenges I would have to face as an undocumented person, but thanks to the DREAM ACT, now I am working full time for the Diocese of Beaumont. An ENCUENTRO changed my life and when I heard about the V Encuentro Nacional de Pastoral Hispana I wanted to be part of it.
I want to be the voice of the voiceless and I want to make sure this Encuentro is well known throughout the nation. I believe this event has the potential to transform our Church and our society and I am excited to be part of this historical event.
As chair of the Region X Team, I am excited to have a team that represents a diversity of ministries and our culture. The entire team is excited to be a part of this process and we are willing to respond to the signs of the times with our gifts and support for Region X representatives and for the entire nation.
