Aaron Benavides is a rising sophomore at the University of Notre Dame currently interning for the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Secretariat of Cultural Diversity in the Church. He is majoring in Political Science and Theology and pursuing a minor in Journalism, Ethics, and Democracy. On campus, Aaron currently serves as the Director of Faith and Service for Student Government. Born and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas, Aaron was very involved in service for his home diocese, especially as an altar server. In addition to his service for the Church, he founded a local faith-based community service organization. Passionate about service, Aaron is grateful to have the opportunity to serve the Church on the national level. He is excited to work on the V National Encuentro, which he is certain will shape the future of the Latino community and Church in the United States. Aaron looks forward to collaborating with the entire Encuentro team in anticipation of a successful National Encuentro in September.
