Loyola Press commits to Padrino Partnership

It is with these words, "Our commitment to the Encuentro is solid," that Terry Locke, President of Loyola Press, Inc. committed Loyola Press as a

Padrino

for the Encuentro process. Beginning this year in 2016, they will annually contribute $35,000 for a total support of $175,000. Their mission,

"Loyola Press is much more than a publishing company. As a Jesuit Ministry, we strive to help you find God in all things and develop a deep, personal relationship with Christ. As an apostolate of the Chicago-Detroit Province of the Society of Jesus (commonly known as the Jesuits), Loyola Press embraces the Jesuit passion for helping people to find God in all things. We continue the Jesuit tradition of service through the printed word and by being "people for others."

Loyola Press’s solid commitment to the Encuentro is an expression of numerous years of accompanying the Hispanic/Latino Community. They have introduced new catechetical materials developed to enhance the preparation and instruction of catechists and teachers in a cultural context. Loyola staff has been very present in accompanying national organizations providing leadership and services. Several national Hispanic ministry organizations have benefited from their generous support of events. And Loyola Press has been instrumental in supporting the formation of new Diocesan leadership in Hispanic Ministry. Fr. Hector J. Madrigal, Coordinator of the ENAVE Development Team, expressed appreciation for his relationship with Ms. Locke and Loyola Press.

"Throughout my experience of Hispanic Ministry on the national level, and as the former president of NCADDHM, I am honored by the opportunity to meet the leadership of Loyola Press. The commitment of Loyola Press to the Encuentro process at the
Padrino
level makes sense to me because they have been part of the Hispanic/Latino story and are now helping to write another chapter of our Catholic experience."

As we continue in this process we are grateful to all those who have so generously contributed to this historical moment in the Church. This allows us to prayerfully discern and listen to the Spirt of God leading us as Church to respond to the Hispanic/Latino presence and strengthen us all to open the doors to the present and future missionary disciples. The V

Encuentro

is a four-year process of ecclesial reflection and action that invites all Catholics in the United States to intense missionary activity, consultation, leadership development, and identification of best ministerial practices in the spirit of the New Evangelization. The process has been proposed as a priority activity of the USCCB’s Strategic Plan for 2017-2020. The V

Encuentro

starts at the grass-roots level and calls for the development of resources and initiatives to better serve the fast-growing Hispanic population in dioceses, parishes, ecclesial movements, and other Catholic organizations and institutions in light of its theme

Missionary Disciples: Witnesses of God’s Love.
