Farewell Christina Chabali

Dear ENAVE members, As we enter into a new year, I look back on 2015 with much gratitude. Since I began working here at USCCB last June, I have personally grown in my faith and come to a deeper understanding of the ever-important Hispanic presence in the Catholic Church. Most importantly, I have been inspired by the enthusiasm, faithfulness, and passion each of you have modeled. The beginning of a new year also brings a new beginning for me professionally. I will be leaving my position with USCCB at the end of January to further pursue my interest in international development. I have been awarded a Fulbright Grant to teach English in Belém do Pará, Brazil beginning in February for the 2016 school year. In addition to teaching English at the Universidade Federal do Pará, I will be learning Portuguese, and hope to gain a deeper understanding of social and economic issues in Brasil through community service projects. Leaving my position at USCCB will be bittersweet, as I feel truly fortunate to be surrounded by such kind, Christ-centered people. Please know you will all be in my prayers, especially as the ENAVE team continues preparations for the V Encuentro. I also kindly ask for your prayers as I begin this new chapter in my life!
