The week of August 10-13, 2015, the Development Committee organized and hosted a Leadership and Fund Development Training in Chicago. Thrity-four leaders participated in the training that included thirteen Episcopal Regional Chairs, thirteen Development Chairs, four ENAHVE members, three Core Team members and one guest. The Fund Development Training was held at the Cenacle Retreat & Conference Center and led by Nick Fellers, a trainer from
the Suddes Group – For Impact
.
Fr. Hector Madrigal, Dr. Patricia Jiménez and Alejandro Aguilera-Titus, who form part of the ENHAVE Core Team, led the Leadership Development Training that included an afternoon of discussion about the structure of ENAHVE and the next steps for the Encuentro Process. Alejandro Aguilera-Titus listened to the feedback given by the Episcopal Regional Chairs about their experiences in forming their Episcopal Regional Teams and answered questions. Overall the feedback regarding the Fund Development was especially positive as participants were appreciative of the opportunity to learn the importance of developing relationships with potential donors and preparing themselves for "the ask". Participants also appreciated the dynamic and engaging training style of Nick Fellers. Thanks to a $30,000 grant from and anonymous Catholic Foundation, the training cost for participants was limited to their travel expenses.
