Detroit, MI- The National Team of Accompaniment of the V Encuentro (ENAVE) is is pleased to announce it has received a $100,000 grant to support the mission and vision of the
through the training of pastoral leaders from the 14 Catholic episcopal regions in the United States. The development of the Episcopal Regional Teams in 2015 will provide leadership and training for the development of the Diocesan and Parish Teams in 2016 that will prepare ENAVE for a national consultation process that will begin in 2017 and culminate with the National
event in 2018. Each of the 14 Episcopal Regions will receive $5,000 to be applied towards their regional Encuentro trainings taking place this year. Grant monies will be submitted to and distributed from the Archdiocese of Detroit to anchoring Institutions for each region. The grant also allows for Episcopal Regional Chairs and the person responsible for fund development in each region to participate in a Fund and Leadership Development training with the Suddes Group and ENAHVE in Chicago on August 10-13, 2015. During this training, participants will study effective approaches to transforming organizations and successful sustainable fundraising. Alejandro Aguilera-Titus, Executive Director of the V Encuentro noted, "The grant moneys are key to support the work of the Episcopal Regional Teams as they form leaders in the Process of Encuentro. It also empowers these teams to develop needed skills in the area of fundraising and organizational development." The
is a three-year process (2015-2018) of pastoral-theological reflection leading to a national event (2018) followed by one year of strategic implementation. The process includes pastoral leadership development and formation, and a broad consultation that identifies the needs of Hispanic Catholics in the United States and how to address them. The outcome of the consultation is shared through
(gatherings) at the parish, diocesan, regional and national level, and articulated in a concluding document with pastoral guidelines and recommendations.
