Alejandro's May Message

Dear friends, What a joy it is to know that so many missionary disciples are participating in the process of the V Encuentro. We know that thousands of parishes are carrying out the process and that the Parish Encuentros are beginning to bear the fruits of conversion, enthusiasm for the faith, and pastoral renewal. We also hear great news from campus ministry and other Catholic organizations and lay ecclesial movements that are participating in the process of reflection, mission, consultation and solidarity of the V Encuentro. Soon, parishes and other Catholic organizations will select the delegates to participate in the Diocesan Encuentros this fall. From them, delegates will be chosen to represent dioceses in the Regional Encuentros and the National Encuentro. We would like to inform you that the selection of delegates for the Regional Encuentros and the National Encuentro should be carried out by each diocese shortly after they celebrate their Diocesan Encuentro. They will soon receive instructions on how to submit the list of delegates to the National Encuentro. Also, we now have a Participant Guide for the Parish Encuentros available here. The Spanish version should be available by the end of the week. In response to the questions we regularly receive from participants of the V Encuentro, we offer the following information:

• It is not too late to begin the process of the V Encuentro in your parish or lay ecclesial movement. There are hundreds of parishes that will begin the process of the sessions in September.

• For parish groups that have already finished the process of the five sessions and their missionary activity, we recommend that you do the process again, but with other people who have not yet participated.

• Youth groups have four weeks to submit their video with the movements for the Viral Video Contest "Nuestra Alegria."

• All the materials for the V Encuentro are available and any parish, diocese, or person can order them here.
